Opportunities for Positive Growth Inc. seeks a Recreational Therapist to provide person-centered therapeutic recreation services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Based in our community-focused Healthcare & Medical Services department, you will assess needs, develop and implement individualized treatment and activity plans, and facilitate group and community-based programs that build skills, independence, and social engagement. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, document progress, and involve families and caregivers. Assess functional, social, and recreational needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
Develop and implement individualized therapeutic recreation treatment plans
Facilitate individual and group activities that promote skills, independence, and community inclusion
Coordinate and supervise community outings and adaptive recreation opportunities
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, families, and caregivers
Monitor, document, and report client progress and outcomes in a timely manner
Adapt activities and environments to ensure safety, accessibility, and engagement
Provide education on recreational therapy goals and strategies to clients and support networks
Maintain compliance with agency policies, licensing, and regulatory standards
Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and quality improvement initiatives
Recreational therapy assessment and treatment planning
Knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities
Group facilitation and behavior management
Adaptive and therapeutic activity design
Documentation and electronic health records (EHR)
