- CTRS Hydrotherapy Coordinator
Description
Position Summary: The individual will plan, coordinate and implement client programs, with guidance and oversight from the Assistant Director, and based on needs of program at the time. Assisting clients with personal care needs is a component of the position. Additionally, this individual will coordinate participation of hydrotherapy, a regular component of the program.
Core Responsibilities:
Ø Plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate a diverse set of therapeutic group activities. This includes monitoring and ordering/shopping for activity supplies as needed.
Ø Provide direct client care, assist with personal care needs, meal service, activity supervision and assistance. This includes transfers, orientation, and ambulation as needed.
Ø Serve as a care coordinator for a designated caseload. This includes meeting charting requirements and communication with clients and families as needed.
Ø Conduct assessments of client progress to evaluate leisure, quality of life and cognitive functioning.
Ø Coordinate the hydrotherapy program which includes taking clients off property weekly to the community pool, training staff/interns to assist with the program, assisting clients with dressing before and after the pool, leading the clients in exercises in the pool, communicating with families, and collecting trimester payments.
Ø All other duties as assigned
Requirements
Ø A Bachelor’s Degree in recreation or equivalent experience in running programs.
Ø CTRS certification or working toward it.
Ø Current Certification in CPR, First Aid and AED.
Ø Ability to obtain QMAP (Qualified Medication Administration Persons) status and maintain the status.
Ø Preferred minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with neurological disabilities or in a general rehabilitation setting.
Ø Self-motivated, discreet, loyal and flexible team player with the ability to meet deadlines, remain flexible and adjust to changing priorities.
Ø Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ø The ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and the general public.
Ø Good judgment and the ability to work independently.
Ø Knowledge of MS, TBI and other neurological diagnosis.
Ø Knowledge of emergency and safety protocols.
Ø Ability to use personal vehicle to travel to and from programs in the community.
Ø Must maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license
Ø Ability to lift or transfer less than 50 lbs.
